Holidays Shine Bright at the Disneyland® Resort

It is almost that time of year again!  From November 9, 2019 to January 6, 2020, the Disneyland® Resort transforms into the Merriest Place on Earth! Here is just some of the holiday fun you can expect this year at the Disneyland® Resort. We’ll keep you updated on any future holiday announcements!

At Disneyland® Park:

  • Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle and “Believe… in Holiday Magic” fireworks spectacular return to the holiday lineup.

Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party Announced for Disney California Adventure® Park

Disneyland® Resort in Southern California has announced details for Halloween Time taking place Sep. 6 through Oct. 31, 2019.

During Halloween Time, the entire Disneyland® Resort area is decorated for the most be-witching time of the year. Several attractions are slated to receive their always popular holiday overlays, including The Haunted Mansion, Guardians of the Galaxy, Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters, and Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree. Halloween Screams nighttime spectacular will return nightly to Disneyland® Park, with fireworks added to the show on select nights. In Disney California Adventure® Park, Plaza de la Familia will return to Paradise Gardens Park to celebrate the spirit of Día de los Muertos.  And throughout the resorts, you’ll find creepy keepsakes and witch-worthy snacks to celebrate the season.

New for 2019 to the Halloween Time at Disneyland® Resort offerings is Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party. This special-ticketed event allows guests young and old to don a costume and trick-or-treat in Anaheim’s ultimate neighborhood, the Disney California Adventure® Park! You’ll even see the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow make his spooky ride through the park each night of the party! Highlights of the new Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party include:

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – What We Know About Batuu

Back in August of 2015, Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced that a brand-new, 14-acre Star Wars-themed land was coming to Disneyland® Park in Southern California and Disney’s Hollywood Studios® in Florida. Since then, anticipation has reached galactic proportions as construction and details of the largest single-themed land expansion at both parks has progressed.

Let’s take a look at what we know so far about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. We’ll keep the page updated as more details emerge.

The Basics

  • We’ll start off with the big detail that everyone wants to know. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be opening in two phases at each park. Phase one will include the debut of the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction as well as select food & beverage and merchandise locations. Phase one opening will take place on May 31, 2019 at Disneyland® Park in California and on Aug. 29, 2019 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios® at Walt Disney World® Resort in Florida. Phase two opening will take place later in 2019 and will debut the rest of the land and the attraction Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
  • When you visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, you’ll be transported to the Planet of Batuu, a far-flung destination along the galaxy’s Outer Rim. Batuu is home to Black Spire Outpost, an infamous port for smugglers, traders and adventurers.

The Attractions

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be the home of two brand new signature attractions that will turn all Star Wars fans’ dreams into a reality:

  • Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run – climb into the cockpit of “the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy” and take control of the Falcon as you assume one of three unique and critical roles of the ship – pilot, gunner, or flight engineer. Both thrilling and interactive, the smuggling mission kicks off on May 31, 2019 at Disneyland® Park and on Aug. 29, 2019 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios®. Guests must be 38″ (97 cm) or taller.
  • Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – places you in the middle of an epic battle between the Resistance and the First Order. The fight against the First Order is just part of your journey inside a full-size starship and aboard a nearby Star Destroyer. Your chance to join the Resistance will come later in 2019! Guests must be 40″ (102 cm) or taller.

Food and Beverage

For more than four decades,  we’ve all been wondering what does Blue Milk actually taste like? That question and more will soon be answered thanks to an expansive array of food and beverage offerings that will be available at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

  • Kat Saka’s Kettle – home of the Outpost mix, a unique popcorn snack with a combination of sweet, savory and spicy flavors.
  • Oga’s Cantina – visitors of all ages will enjoy exotic beverages served in unique vessels while listening to spirited musical entertainment provided by the cantina’s DJ R-3X, otherwise known as Rex. You may remember Rex as the former Starspeeder 3000 pilot droid from the original Star Tours attraction. Rumor is that he’s as quirky and talkative as ever!
  • Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo – is a designated location for traveling food shuttles on Batuu and the place to head to fuel up galactic favorites. Chef Strono “Cookie” Tuggs is in much demand for his culinary skills, so his travels across the galaxy in a mobile kitchen allow him to fill his pantry with exotic ingredients used to make new and unusual dishes.
  • Ronto Roasters – this location’s large recycled podracing engine fires up a barbecue pit for mouth-watering exotic meats. In addition to the tasty Ronto fare, a variety of exotic non-alcoholic drinks like the Sour Sarlacc or Tatooine Sunset will be available.
  • Milk Stand – will offer two favorites of the locals direct from Bubo Wamba Family Farms – Blue Milk (as seen in “Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope”) and Green Milk (as seen in“Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi.”).
  • Be on the lookout for specially designed Coca-Cola bottles that are being made specifically for and are only available for purchase on Batuu.

Reservations will not be accepted for any of the food and beverage offerings in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Merchandise

Food is just one of discoveries you’ll find while wandering the lively market of Black Spire Outpost. You’ll also find a robust collection of merchant shops and stalls filled with authentic Star Wars creations.

  • Droid Depot – step into Mubo’s workshop and construct your own astromech droid to take back with you to your home planet. Picking pieces and parts off of a conveyor belt,  you’ll build one of two core models (R-series or BB-series) that will interact with various elements throughout Batuu. Further customize your droid by adding additional programming chips. The Droid Depot will also offer pre-built droids, droid-inspired products and more.
  • Savi’s Workshop ~ Handbuilt Lightsabers – customize and craft your very own lightsaber with some help from the Gatherers. These workshop Masters not only guide you in building your unique lightsaber, but they’ll also instruct you on the ways of the Jedi.
  • Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities – find a selection of rare and uniquely-valued items for sale representing different eras of the Star Wars galaxy.
  • First Order Cargo –  step into a temporary First Order storage dock and pledge your loyalty by purchasing pins, caps, gear, model ships and more.
  • Resistance Supply – manned by Resistance members and local sympathizers, this makeshift stall supplies Resistance uniforms, pins, badges, hats, helmets, jackets, maps, tools, training supplies, food rations and other items.
  • Black Spire Outpost – market featuring several stalls selling a variety of items:
    • Creature Stall – interesting critters that you can take home with you
    • Black Spire Outfitters – clothing
    • Toydarian Toymaker – toys
    • The Jewels of Bith – accessories and other trinkets to treasure

Play Disney Parks Mobile App Interactive

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is the first land within a Disney park designed to integrate with the Play Disney Parks mobile app, which debuted last year. When you use the app inside the land, it will provide new opportunities for you to engage such as translating a galactic language, learning what’s hidden inside crates and containers, or accomplishing certain tasks by participating in missions. You can also use the Play Disney Parks app to interact with a variety of elements such as droids, ships, media screens, door panels and antenna arrays.

Know Before You Go to Batuu

Because of galactic interest in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, it takes a lot of planning to make the most of your time in Batuu . While your Magic Maker® travel professional will assist you with all the intricate details, here’s a summary of some of the most important considerations:

Disneyland® Park

  • Guests planning to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland® Park only between May 31 and Jun. 23, 2019 will need valid theme park admission and will be required to make a no-cost reservation, subject to availability, to access the land. During this time period, there will be no stand-by admission into the land. Information on how to make a reservation will be available at a later date. For guests staying at one of the three Disneyland® Resort hotels during these dates, they will receive a designated reservation to access the land during their stay (one reservation per registered guest), but valid theme park admission is still required. Beginning Jun. 24, 2019, the separate reservation for the land will no longer be required.
  • Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be open during normal park operating hours. It will not be included in Extra Magic Hour or Magic Morning at Disneyland® Park.
  • Disney FASTPASS service, including access via Disney MaxPass, will not initially be offered at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Disneyland® Park will continually evaluate their operations and services in order to help provide a great guest experience.
  • Vacation packages, park tickets and Disney Resort hotel stays do not guarantee access to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge as the land and its experiences are subject to capacity restraints and other restrictions. Capacity for the parks, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and its experiences is limited. Access to the park, land and experiences may be restricted or unavailable depending on guest demand and other factors.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios®

  • A reservation will not be offered/required to experience Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the Walt Disney World® Resort. Valid theme park admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios® is required to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge after its opening on Aug. 29, 2019. Capacity is limited.
  • Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be open during Extra Magic Hours. During Extra Magic Hours, guests staying at select Walt Disney World® Resort hotels can spend extra time at Disney’s Hollywood Studios® enjoying select attractions.
  • Disney FastPass+ service will not initially be offered at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Disney’s Hollywood Studios® will continually evaluate their operations and services in order to help provide a great guest experience.

Upcoming runDisney Event and Registration Dates

If you aren’t familiar with runDisney races, they are family-friendly running events that are held at the Walt Disney World® and Disneyland® Resorts. Ranging from 5K to marathons and even kids runs, the races are a creative way to bring new runners to the sport by utilizing the popularity of Disney Parks. It’s a perfect match! So perfect, in fact, that runDisney has become one of the largest race organizers in the United States – both in terms of the number of races and runners. Each year more than 200,000 runners participate in a runDisney event!

NOTE: Due to construction, all runDisney race weekends at the Disneyland® Resort have been placed on hiatus beginning in 2018 – including the associated Coast to Coast Race Challenges.

New Walt Disney World® Resort Hotel Accommodations

In July of 2019, the reimagining of Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort will end with the opening of the Gran Destino Tower. The tower will serve as the main entrance for the resort and will add 545 new guest rooms and a new rooftop table service dining option called Toledo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood. The existing 1,800+ rooms at the resort are already fully updated and are getting rave reviews from our guests! Also projected to open in Fall of 2019 is Disney’s Riviera Resort, inspired by the European grandeur Walt Disney experienced in his travels along the Mediterranean coastline.

Experience Storybook Dining at Artist Point

There’s a new Character Dining option at the Walt Disney World® Resort, and it may just be the “fairest one of all!” Storybook Dining at Artist Point is now open at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge each night for dinner. Characters encounters during the experience include Snow White, Dopey, Grumpy, and The Queen. Current pricing is $55 for adults and $33 for children ages 3-9 (plus tax and gratuity). The restaurant features a prix fixe menu from which each guest will receive one of each appetizer, their choice of entrée, and one of each dessert as well as their choice of non-alcoholic fountain beverage. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic specialty beverages are available but not included. This is bound to be a hit!

Disney Skyliner

Set to open in Fall of 2019, the Disney Skyliner will take guests up, up and away as they travel throughout the resort! The state-of-the-art gondola system will connect Disney’s Hollywood Studios® and Epcot® to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney’s Riviera Resort which is still in construction.

Celebrate Mickey & Minnie's 90th!

Disney destinations around the World will shine the spotlight on Mickey & Minnie’s 90th with special celebrations unique to each location. At the Walt Disney World® Resort, Magic Kingdom® Park will host Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration from Jan. 18 to Sept. 30, 2019. You’ll find new food, merchandise and entertainment, including a new dance party with Mickey, Minnie and their friends, and a chance to meet Mickey and Minnie together in their new birthday outfits! At the Disneyland® Resort, Get Your Ears On – A Mickey and Minnie Celebration will bring new entertainment, food and merchandise to the resort. Starting Jan. 18, “Mickey’s Mix Magic” will light up the night at Disneyland® Park with all-new music, projections and lasers that set the scene for an epic dance party that takes over almost the entire park. Then on Jan. 25, fan-favorite Mickey’s Soundsational Parade returns to Disneyland® Park featuring an all-new float with Mickey himself! And on the high seas, Disney Cruise Line will launch Mickey & Minnie Surprise Party at Sea, an all-new high-energy deck party on the Disney Fantasy during Summer 2019 sailings.

30th Anniversary of Disney's Hollywood Studios®

To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Disney’s Hollywood Studios® on May 1st, an all-new cinematic nighttime experience called “Wonderful World of Animation” is scheduled to debut. With the help of state-of-the-art projection technology, the show is said to take guests on a magical journey through more than 90 years of Disney animation, all beginning with Mickey!

Pixar Additions at Disney's Hollywood Studios®

Pixar pals are doing their part to ensure the 30th Anniversary of Disney’s Hollywood Studios® will be blockbuster! Beginning Jan. 18, Pixar Place will transform into a Municiberg city block from Pixar’s Incredibles films giving guests a chance to meet Edna Mode and celebrate the heroic deeds of Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible and Frozone during a party featuring lively music, dancing, interactive games and lots more Super fun. Also starting Jan. 18, Mike and Sulley from Pixar’s Monsters, Inc return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios® inside Walt Disney Presents. Celebrate 25 Years of 'The Lion King'

Each day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park from Jan. 18 to Sep. 30, join the fun at the “Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party.” Timon and Rafiki will engage everyone in entertaining dances and games inspired by “The Lion King,” as wildly talented musicians provide the perfect soundtrack in a World Beat style.

Experience the Festivals of Epcot®

Festive fun returns to Epcot® throughout 2019, beginning with the Epcot® International Festival of the Arts, Jan. 18-Feb. 25, followed by the Epcot® International Flower & Garden Festival, returning Mar. 6-Jun. 3. After nearly 20 years of delighting Epcot® guests, IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth will be ending in the second half of 2019 to make way for an all-new nighttime spectacular. Because that new show isn’t planned to debut until 2020, there will be a limited-time experience called Epcot® Forever that will start in fall 2019. Set to classic Epcot® tunes, the show begins with a spark of imagination that quickly grows into an epic spectacle of fireworks, music, lighting, lasers, and choreographed, special effects kites.

Enjoy New Additions at Disney Springs™

The offerings at Disney Springs™ in the Walt Disney World® Resort are constantly changing to ensure it remains a one-of-a-kind retail, dining and entertainment district. In summer of 2019, City Works Eatery & Pour House will open offering a massive, constantly rotating draft selection of local, regional, and global craft brews complemented by classic American cuisine with chef-driven twists. More than a dozen delicious Festival Marketplaces will feature small plates, specialty wines and craft beers.

Additional Fun on Pixar Pier

Since its opening in June, guests have fallen in love with Pixar Pier inside Disney California Adventure® Park. In 2019, additional stories and characters of Disney•Pixar films will come to life when Pixar Pier welcomes two additional attractions to complete the land: Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind and Jessie’s Critter Carousel!

New Dining Options in Downtown Disney® District

The Downtown Disney® District is in the middle of an exciting, promenade-wide transformation. In 2018, Splitsville Luxury Lanes, the Disney Home store, The Disney Dress Shop and Salt & Straw scoop shop were added along with a reimagined design for the World of Disney store. Disney Cruise Line Sets Sail For Fun and Adventure

Disney Cruise Line will call on seven new ports in Europe for the first time in 2019, including Gothenburg and Nynashamn (Stockholm), Sweden; Toulon (Provence) and Brest, France; Cartagena, Spain; Fredericia, Denmark; and Belfast, Northern Ireland. Also, they will offer several itineraries with 2 stops at their private island, Disney Castaway Cay! And fans can rejoice in the news that the always-popular Star Wars™ Day at Sea and Marvel Day at Sea will return to select sailings in 2019 as well.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Last but certainly not least, is Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This epic, new land is scheduled to open in Disneyland® Park in summer 2019 and inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios® in late fall 2019. While no official dates have been announced, the opening is highly anticipated and is sure to draw large crowds of people wanting to explore planet Batuu. The land will feature two new attractions, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance along with various merchandise and food & beverage options.

The wait is now over! Off to Neverland Travel® is now booking 2019 vacation packages for Walt Disney World® Resort!

On June 19th, 2018, The Walt Disney World® Resort opened bookings for 2019 vacation packages for arrivals January 1st through December 31st, 2019. However, because system limitations prevent us from booking stays where the last date of your vacation would be more than 499 days in the future, visits for November and December 2019 won’t be available until later this summer.

Introduced in 2018 and continuing for 2019, Magic Your Way Vacation Packages that include a Disney Dining Plan will offer several beverage options during meals*. Guests under 21 can choose (1) non-alcoholic beverage (including specialty beverages where offered). Guests over 21 can choose either one (1) single serving non-alcoholic beverage (including specialty beverages where offered) or one (1) single serving mixed cocktail, beer, or wine (where offered) within their meal entitlement.

8 Things We’re Excited About in 2018 at Disney Destinations

While it’s hard to believe that 2017 is almost over, we are overflowing with excitement and anticipation of what’s coming in 2018 for Disney Destinations!

Here’s 8 things (in no particular order) that we can’t wait to experience!

1 Toy Story Land- In Summer 2018 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios®, the all-new Toy Story Land will open to guests. Shrinking guests to the size of a toy, three attractions and a new quick-service dining location will await guests in the 11-acre play space. Slinky Dog Dash (a family-style coaster) and Alien Swirling Saucers will be the new attractions joining the already existing guest favorite Toy Story Mania!®. Woody’s Lunch Box will offer several meals and old-fashioned soda floats. No exact opening date in 2018 has been announced.

2 Disney Springs™ Additions- When you’re visiting the Walt Disney World® Resort, Disney Springs™ is your place to eat, drink, and shop! And in 2018, the list of options is growing! Eight new dining concepts will open in 2018! The Edison will open as a lavish “Industrial Gothic” restaurant, bar and nighttime destination. Adjacent to that is a trio of modern Italian restaurant and bar concepts – Maria & Enzo’s, Enzo’s Hideaway, and Pizza Ponte. Terralina Crafted Italian will feature dishes inspired by “Top Chef Master” Chef Tony Mantuano ‘s adventures in Italy. Master Sommelier George Miliotes’ Wine Bar George will offer more than 100 wine selections by the bottle and glass along with shareable plates, cheese and charcuterie. Jaleo, a Spanish concept by world-renowned Chef José Andrés’ and Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill are also slated to open in 2018.

3 Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park Celebrates 20 Years- Opening its gates for the first time on Earth Day in 1998, Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park will celebrate 20 years in 2018! As part of the celebration, the Flights of Wonder show is being retired to make room for the debut of a new show featuring Russell and Dug from Disney•Pixar’s film UP! The new show will feature species of birds from around the world at the Caravan Theater in Anandapur Village. We’re sure that more special events will be announced before the big day, so stay tuned to our Facebook page for more details!

4 Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Transformation- Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is currently receiving some major enhancements that are set to be completed late Summer 2018! For our guests that have stayed at the resort before, the biggest change will be the elimination of the Customs House! Old Port Royale will act as a centralized location for check in/out as well as merchandise and dining. Other updates include an all-new Centertown Market for casual eats, waterfront dining at an all-new Shutters restaurant, a new Banana Cabana outdoor bar and lounge, and an refurbished Calypso Trading Post for shopping.

5 Return of Disney on Broadway– Much to our delight, the Epcot® International Festival of the Arts will return from Jan. 12 – Feb. 19, 2018! Also returning is what we believe to the highlight of the festival, the Disney On Broadway performances which happen each weekend (Fridays through Mondays at 5:30p, 6:45p and 8:00p) in the America Gardens Theatre. This years performers include:

  • Jan. 12-15 and 19-22: Kara Lindsay and Kevin Massey
  • Jan. 26-29 and Feb. 2-5: Kissy Simmons and Alton Fitzgerald White
  • Feb. 9-12 and 16-19: Ashley Brown and Josh Strickland

The concerts are included with standard Epcot® admission but because of popularity, we suggest experiencing Disney on Broadway with a dining package that includes preferred seating!

6 Pixar Fest and Pixar Pier– For over 20 years, the beloved characters of Pixar Animation Studios have found a special place in our hearts. 7 Downtown Disney® District Additions- There’s no doubt that the west end of the Disneyland® Resort’s Downtown Disney® District will see a lot of changes in the next 4 years with the construction of a new Disney-owned Four Diamond hotel that is set to open in 2021! But in 2018, you’ll see a few new locations open for your enjoyment. Splitsville Luxury Lanes will open in early 2018 with 20 bowling lanes, four dining areas, and much more. The New York-based Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer will open its first California location offering award-winning burgers and signature CrazyShake™ milkshakes that boast whimsical and over-the-top decorations and flavors. And in early 2018, D-Street will be re-imagined into a Disney-themed home goods store with products that change with each season.

8 Enchanting Enhancements for Disney Magic- Exciting new spaces and new experiences are coming to the Disney Magic in March 2018! An all-new enchanting dining experience will be created for families at Rapunzel’s Royal Table! Guests will be treated to live entertainment during their dinner, and maybe even an appearance by Princess Rapunzel herself. A redesign is coming for the Vibe, the space on the ship reserved for teens ages 14-17, which will be transformed into a trendy urban loft environment. And Cove Café, an adult-exclusive retreat located near the Quiet Cove Pool, will be redesigned in a sophisticated tropical style. The new enhancements debut on the Disney Magic’s Mar. 9, 2018 sailing.

Pixar-Themed Additions Coming to the Disneyland® Resort

This year, many of your favorite Disney•Pixar stories will take center stage at the Disneyland® Resort!

Pixar Fest

Starting Apr. 13, 2018, a one-of-a-kind celebration called Pixar Fest will begin! This limited-time event will featuring the debut of an all-new nighttime spectacular, the return of two fan-favorite parades, new Pixar experiences, and entertainment.

Here’s just a taste of what’s in store:

Disneyland® Park

  • Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular will light up Disneyland® Park with dazzling pyrotechnics and amazing projections at iconic park locations like Sleeping Beauty Castle, the water screens of the Rivers of America, the façade of “it’s a small world” and the buildings of Main Street, U.S.A.
  • Pixar Play Parade will make its debut inside Disneyland® Park for the very first time with new show elements –  the Pixar lamp, and Characters from Up and Inside Out.

Disney California Adventure® Park

  • Paint the Night parade returns to the Disneyland® Resort, making Disney California Adventure® Park its home! This mesmerizing procession will spotlight many Pixar stories, including characters from Toy Story, Monsters, Inc. and Cars—in addition to an all-new “The Incredibles” float joining the parade later in June.

Pixar Pier

And on June 23, the area that was known as Paradise Pier at Disney California Adventure® Park will be transformed into Pixar Pier! This new land will introduce four whimsical neighborhoods and a transformation of the old California Screamin’ to the new Incredicoaster!

Here’s a preview of the changes:

  • Neighborhood #1 inspired by Disney·Pixar’s “The Incredibles” involves a transformation of California Screamin’ to the new Incredicoaster where the Parr family races alongside guests in an attempt to catch baby Jack-Jack!
  • Neighborhood #2 inspired by Disney•Pixar’s “Toy Story” will be developed around the popular Toy Story Mania! attraction.
  • Neighborhood #3 inspired by Disney•Pixar’s “Inside Out” will introduce a new and yet unannounced family-friendly attraction that will open at a later date.
  • Neighborhood #4 will include Mickey’s Fun Wheel and will celebrate a collection of favorite Pixar stories. Mickey’s Fun Wheel will get a new look with each gondolas showcasing a different Pixar character. The Games of the Boardwalk will also be refreshed to match the new theme.
  • Ariel’s Grotto restaurant and the Cove Bar will be transformed into a Pixar-themed lounge.
  • All of the remaining areas of Paradise Pier will become a new land called Paradise Park.

NOTE: To prepare for the changes to Pixar Pier, California Screamin’, Mickey’s Fun Wheel, Games of the Boardwalk, Sideshow Shirts, Ariel’s Grotto and Cove Bar are now closed!

Disney World Dining Caters to Everyone – Special Needs Dining

Anyone who has visited the Walt Disney World® Resort in the past can tell you about their excellent dining options. From the ethnic restaurants in the World Showcase at EPCOT®, to the class act dinner theater like Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Review at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, and the one-of-a kind restaurants like 50’s Prime Time Café, there is something for everyone. But if you are one of the 15 million Americans with food allergies, you may think that your choices are limited. With the MAGIC of Disney, it is actually quite the opposite.

When traveling with someone with a food allergy, they’ll be pleasantly surprised with the quality of service provided. When your Magic Maker® makes you advance dining reservations (ADRs), they’ll notify them of the allergy to alert the staff of the extra care needed.

Once you get to your table service meals, you’ll want to remind the host/hostess of your allergies. At most locations, they will have a special allergy-friendly menu with options for you to choose from. If not or if you have any further questions, they can notify the chef to come out and talk about our particular dietary need. Each chef will go to great lengths to ensure your meal is made without any allergen contamination. If it is a buffet meal, the chefs often have a listing or will escort you around to identify “safe” foods.

For counter service, you’ll notify the cast member at the order podium of your restrictions. At most locations, they will have a special Allergy Menu that you’ll be able to order off of. If not, they’ll notify a manager to come and consult you on what your available options were. For snacks, you’ll find a selection of allergy friendly options at many of the food & merchandise locations!

Visiting one of the other domestic Disney Destinations? No worries! Disneyland® Resort, Disney Cruise Line, and Aulani – A Disney Resort & Spa all have programs that function similarly and are equally as safe and efficient!

The Special Dietary program at Disney Destinations is just another example of how they continues to exceed expectations of their guests.
