Rider Switch Information
Rider Switch is designed to allow both parents of small children who may not meet the height requirements to ride an attraction, without having to wait in a long line twice. To utilize Rider Switch, speak with the Cast Member at the entrance to an attraction. They will either instruct you to wait in line together (and show you a waiting area near the ride boarding area) or they will provide you with a Rider Switch return ticket (good for yourself and three guests) that you can use after the first parent has waited in line.

Transportation Tips…

    • Allow ample traveling time to get from a resort to park, and from park to park. If you are trying to get from resort to resort allow at least 1 hour travel time (especially if you are trying to get to dining reservations).
    • Remember, buses do not run from resort to resort. The easiest way to go from resort to resort is to travel to the nearest park, then take the bus to the destination resort. This is usually always quicker than going to the Transportation & Ticket Center (TTC).

  • You can use the Monorail system to access the Magic Kingdom® Park, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and the TTC. For other destinations you must use another form of Disney Transportation – either bus or boat.
  • The Disney Skyliner system connects Disney’s Hollywood Studios® and the International Gateway at EPCOT® to four Disney Resort hotels: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Riviera Resort

Arriving at the Park Tips…

  • Try to arrive 30 minutes prior to parks opening – this is especially important during busy times (summer and holiday seasons).
  • If available, pick up a Times Guide with your park map each morning; this will give you the most up to date information on show times, parades, and ride closures; it will help you plan your day based on the times of shows you want to see. If not available at the gate, you’ll find show times listed in your My Disney Experience app.
  • Do the “headline attractions” first (the exception to this is if you have young children – always go to Fantasyland® Area in Magic Kingdom® Park first).
    • Magic Kingdom® Park – TRON Lightcycle / Run, Space Mountain®, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad®, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
    • Epcot® – Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Mission: SPACE® Attraction, Soarin’™ Attraction, Test Track®, Frozen Ever After
    • Disney’s Hollywood Studios®– Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Rock ‘n Roller Coaster® Starring Aerosmith, Toy Story Mania!® Attraction, Slinky Dog Dash, Alien Swirling Saucers, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™
    • Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park – Expedition Everest® Attraction, Kilimanjaro Safari® Expedition, Na’vi River Journey, Avatar Flight of Passage Attraction

    • You may request substitutions of side items in the combo meals. Substitutions are at the discretion of each restaurant.

    • When checking in for a Table Service reservation, make sure to confirm any special celebrations or special requests (i.e. dietary needs; cake purchases).
    • Try and eat your meals at ‘off’ times, especially at Quick Service locations! This will save time and make finding seats easier!

    • Many Quick Service locations offer Mobile Ordering which is a great way to save time.
    • Many snacks are the perfect size to share!

  • You can bring snacks and drinks into the parks with you! Throw a few things into your bag or stroller to keep you energized throughout the day!
  • When possible, eat breakfast in the room or on your way to the parks. Pack cereal bars, juice boxes and cereal – this will save you both time and money!
