Glow Fest Joins Summer Nightastic! in California

Earlier this year, we shared details of the popular shows and after-dark entertainment that are returning for Summer Nightastic! In Florida, at the Walt Disney World® Resort, Guests will experience a new fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom® Park as well as the favorite, Disney’s “Main Street Electrical Parade.” Guests visiting California will get to experience a new, high-energy experience called Glow Fest that will light up summer nights at Disney California Adventure® park in addition to the “World of Color” water spectacular.

While “World of Color” brings a whole lot of color to the Paradise Pier section of the Park, you will find bright lights and beams of color in Sunshine Plaza and the Hollywood Backlot at this summer’s Glow Fest.

Glow Fest begins with the sound of drums and powerful rhythms that will draw you to Sunshine Plaza. An electric energy fills the evening air. As the sun goes down, colors burst to life and music starts to play from a brightly-lit stage that seems to glow. Dancers and world music performers create a fun vibe that you will only find at Disney California Adventure® park.

During Summer Nightastic! the daily experience takes center stage in Sun Plaza from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and continues in the Hollywood Backlot until Park closing. What a way to end the night!

‘World of Color’ Water Spectacular Debuts June 11

Lights, water, fire, music and animation will come together like never before on June 11 when “World of Color” makes its dazzling debut at Disney’s California Adventure park. You will get to experience some of your favorite Disney stories, from the charming to the adventurous, in a magical, new way.

The show is brilliantly choreographed as it combines nearly 1,200 powerful fountains, popular Disney music, larger-than-life projections, lasers, fire, fog, surround sound and stunning images. On top of that, the magnificent, moving fountains are capable of reaching enormous heights — from 30 to 200 feet -– while maintaining their dazzling colors.

“World of Color” debuts this year as part of Summer Nightastic! –- a lineup of exciting, after-dark entertainment at the Disneyland Resort. Summer Nightastic! will run from June 11 through August 29, and you’ll be able to catch “World of Color” year-round at Paradise Bay.

Main Street Electrical Parade Lights the Night Again

The “Main Street Electrical Parade” lights up the streets of the Magic Kingdom® Park and headlines a season of after-dark excitement coming to Walt Disney World® Resort.

“After the sun goes down, our Walt Disney World® parks will light up the night with ‘Summer Nightastic!’, ” announced Meg Crofton, president of Walt Disney World® Resort.

Magic will shine and shimmer in a whole new light. Here’s a look around:

With floats and characters appearing for the first time at Walt Disney World® Resort, Disney’s “Main Street Electrical Parade” returns with its joyous sights and sounds. Direct from the Disneyland® Resort and marking its first engagement in Florida since 2001, the cherished parade will be led by Tinker Bell waving from the basket of a magical balloon aboard a new float. Pinocchio and Snow White join the parade this summer, aboard bright new floats. Disney’s “Main Street Electrical Parade” is set for its summer-long nighttime premiere in early June at Magic Kingdom.
The Twilight Zone™ Tower of Terror welcomes drop-ins this summer with even more pulse-racing surprises. New lighting effects and the addition of a new drop sequence, created especially for “Summer Nightastic!”, will bring unexpected frights to guests who step into that infamous service elevator. If they dare.
What could be more summery than fireworks on a star-studded night? Magic Kingdom will treat guests to a special summer fireworks spectacular. The night sky will explode in vivid colors and brilliant visual effects as whimsical music fills the air.
Other fun! The return of the Sounds Like Summer concert series to Epcot® and extended evening hours at Disney’s Animal Kingdom™ Park several times a week add up to summer fun as only Disney can do – at all four Walt Disney World theme parks.
