Important Updates from Disney Destinations

Adventures by Disney®

Given the continued political unrest in Egypt and the recent Travel Warning issued by the U.S. Department of State, Adventures by Disney has made the decision to cancel the Egypt family vacations scheduled through the end of August 2011.

If you currently have a vacation booked with Adventures by Disney® on their Egypt itinerary, you will soon be notified of the cancellation and will be offered an alternate Adventures by Disney® vacation destination.

Disney Cruise Line®

Mediterranean Itineraries
Disney Cruise Line® has modified the 10- and 11-night European cruise itineraries aboard the Disney Magic® to include a call in Palermo, Italy, instead of a scheduled stop in Tunis.

The decision was made in part due to the changing political environment in Tunis and the recent Travel Alert issued by the U.S. Department of State. As always, the first concern of Disney Cruise Line is for the safety and well being of Guests. Destinations will continue to be monitored and changes will be made if necessary.

Mexican Riviera Itineraries

The decision to modify the Mexican Riviera itineraries was made in part due to the changing environment in Mazatlán and Disney’s continued focus on making the safety of Guests a top priority.

Pixar Play Parade on Hiatus

The first Pixar-themed, roaming show started last week at Disney California Adventure® theme park, which is giving an entertainment alternative while the Pixar Play Parade is on hiatus. The park plans to host shows using characters and props from the Pixar Play Parade for most of this year.

The Disneyland® Resort put the parade on break until November while major construction is ongoing in the park.  A show based on “The Incredibles” movie, called “The Incredibles: Heroes in Training Squad,” is set to begin Friday, said John McClintock, a Disneyland® Resort spokesman. It will run six times, five days a week. The tentative schedule is: 11 a.m., noon, 1, 2:15, 3:15 and 4:15 p.m.

The show will go on in front of the ElecTRONica stage near the park’s entrance or in front of the cloud-painted wall of the Hyperion Theater in Hollywood Pictures Backlot.  The second show based on “Monsters Inc.” is scheduled to start Jan. 28.
