While many people are aware of the multiple family and kid-friendly dining opportunities at the Walt Disney World® Resort, a lesser known fact is this: Disney has many wonderful opportunities for adult dining as well.  Adult dining at the Walt Disney World® Resort can be just as magical as the kid-friendly variety.   Many mouth-watering opportunities await, and while I can not go through each and every detail, I would like to list a few options that await you on your next Disney vacation:

• Citricos (pictured right) – Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa – Soak in relaxed sun-drenched southern European ambiance. Enjoy flavorful American fare inspired by the legendary cuisine of Provençe, Tuscany and the Spanish Riviera. The market-fresh Mediterranean cooking is fresh, light and simply stylish.
• California Grill – Disney’s Contemporary Resort – Venture into the vibrant and charged atmosphere and watch culinary masterpieces being created in the on-stage kitchen. This award-winning restaurant on the 15th floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort features spectacular views of Seven Seas Lagoon and the Magic Kingdom® Park.  Tip – Be sure to make a reservation during the evening fireworks as you’ll be treated to a very unique and spectacular view.
  
• Yachtsman Steakhouse – Disney’s Yacht Club – Set sail for this ship-shape steakhouse for quality, aged, grain-fed USDA beef. Black Angus Beef is dry aged in our custom aging room from where you can personally select your own cut of meat.  All meat, ranging from filet mignon, porterhouse, bourbon strip and Angus prime rib, is cooked over our oak fired grill, in our on-stage kitchen.
• Victoria and Albert’s – Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa – Indulge your discriminating culinary tastes at this elite, intimate and elegant eatery recognized by the nation’s top food critics. This very-special-occasion romantic Victorian retreat offers nightly harpists, lavish décor, personalized menus and a long-stem rose for each lady.

As I mentioned before, this is just a small sampling of all of the delectable delights for adults to sample when visiting the Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, FL.  Walt Disney World® adult dining is a feast for the senses, and promises to please each and every guest who visits.

When you visit Epcot® at the Walt Disney World® Resort in the fall of 2008, you will be treated to a brand-new, highly interactive attraction inspired by Disney Channel’s Emmy award-winning animated series, Disney’s Kim Possible.

Using the latest technology, Disney’s Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure invites Guests of all ages to become secret agents, teaming up with members of “Team Possible” to save the world from various comical villains and their mad inventions.

As you embark on this international adventure, they will receive an official “Kimmunicator,” at kiosks throughout Epcot. This interactive, handheld device is designed to help you maneuver through the mission. Using state-of-the-art technology, the interactive device connects you with a variety of Kim Possible characters who provide clues to stop villains from taking over the world. The highly interactive devices also allow you to control top-secret equipment hidden inside World Showcase pavilions, creating an ultra-interactive adventure jam-packed with mystery and excitement.

You can play Disney’s Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure in seven World Showcase pavilions: Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Japan, France and United Kingdom. Each pavilion features a unique mission including distinctive visual events and a different super villain from the animated series.

Walt Disney World Resort

The Walt Disney World® Resort continues to monitor the progress of Tropical Storm Fay. Recent forecasts indicate that there likely will be rain and wind conditions that may affect operations as early as Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 19, 2008. At this time, the Walt Disney World Resort will be open and operating as usual. Additionally, to ensure our Guests have opportunities to enjoy our Parks and Downtown Disney® Area offerings, we will open early as follows:

• All four Theme Parks will open at 8:00 a.m. on Aug. 19
• DisneyQuest® Indoor Interactive Theme Park will open at 9:00 a.m. on Aug. 19
• AMC Theatres will open at 10:00 a.m. on Aug. 19

We will announce additional changes to our operations if the storm’s direction and intensity make it necessary to do so.

Disney Cruise Line

The Disney Cruise Line® continues to monitor the progress of Tropical Storm Fay. At this time, there are no changes to the operations or itineraries.

The Aug. 21, 2008, sailing of the Disney Wonder® will sail as scheduled from Port Canaveral.

The safety and security of our Guests is always our top priority. If necessary, our Captains are always prepared to alter the ships’ course or itinerary to navigate away from inclement weather.

Currently, the Walt Disney World® Resort is operating as normal. We will continue to monitor Tropical Storm Fay and, if needed, will make appropriate adjustments. However, at this time, based on the weather forecast, we are not anticipating modifications to our operating hours.

We expect to operate as normal on Wednesday, August 20, 2008.

For those currently on property, Walt Disney World® Resort operating information is available on Channel 19 in Disney Resort Guest rooms or on disneyworld.com. In addition, Guests are encouraged to check with their airline to confirm their flight arrangements.
