Test Track Re-imagined

Epcot’s® Test Track® to Reopen Dec. 6

The countdown is on for the reopening of Test Track® Presented by Chevrolet®. The re-engineered attraction will open on December 6th after being closed almost 8-months for refurbishment.

Disney Imagineers have promised a whole new experience as guests will create their own virtual concept vehicle in the Design Studio. Then, guests climb into a SimCar to put their design through its paces on the Test Track circuit while reaching speeds of up to 65 miles per hour. After your test drive, see stats on how well your virtual concept vehicle performed and explore the Chevrolet showroom full of cars designed by the experts!

This picture shows what the new 6-person SimCars will look like when Test Track® Presented by Chevrolet® opens in December.

Tune-up Set for Test Track® April 16th

Test Track®, one of Epcot’s® most popular attractions, will close this Monday, April 16th, for refurbishment. When it reopens again in the fall, it will present guests with a whole new experience!

The re-imagining of the attraction will change the current testing lab queue area into a new “Chevrolet Design Center” allowing guests to become automotive designers. After creating their own custom concept vehicle, guests buckle in to one of the 6-person Test Track® ”SimCars” and try out their customized vehicle on the Test Track® circuit. After experiencing the hills, switchbacks and straight-aways of the circuit, guests will receive scores in the post-show area grading the performance of their concept vehicles. Even though the vehicles are called “SimCars,” the attraction will remain a ride like it is today – it will not be a simulator experience.

A reopening date has not been announced.
