Next Starbucks® Location Set to Open in Disney’s Hollywood Studios®

Back in April of 2012, Disney Parks announced plans for the addition of a Starbucks® location in each of their six U.S. Theme Parks at the Walt Disney World® Resort in Florida and the Disneyland® Resort in California. Since that announcement, four out of the six domestic parks have opened their Starbucks® locations – Disneyland® Park, Disney California Adventure® Park, Magic Kingdom® Park, and Epcot® – along with locations in each resort’s Downtown Disney® areas.

Next February, a location will open inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios® in Florida. The Trolley Car Café will serve Starbucks’® signature beverages and La Boulange™ pastry items along with various Disney baked goods. Located on the corner of Sunset and Hollywood Boulevards in the former LA Prop merchandise location, this will be the perfect stop before hitting your first attraction or for that midday ‘pick me up!’

Scheduled Maintenance to Affect Walt Disney World® Monorail System

Some ongoing maintenance is currently affecting daily operations of the Walt Disney World® Monorail System.

Though Aug. 31, the hours of operation for the entire Walt Disney World® Monorail system will be adjusted so crews can perform an upgrade to the control systems. Daily operating hours will be:

  • Magic Kingdom® Resort Beam: 8:30a – midnight
  • Magic Kingdom® Express Beam: 9:30a – 11:30p
  • Epcot® Beam: 9a-11p

From Sep. 1 – 26, daily operating hours change to:

  • Magic Kingdom® Resort Beam: 8:30a – 11:00p (midnight on Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party nights)
  • Magic Kingdom® Express Beam: 9:30a – 1 hour after Magic Kingdom® Fireworks
  • Epcot® Beam: 9a-11p

To accommodate guests impacted by this adjustment, additional watercraft and buses will be used to transport guests to their destinations. Those needing to travel between Magic Kingdom® Park and Disney’s Contemporary Resort or Bay Lake Tower are reminded of the pedestrian walkway that connects the two as that may be your quickest alternative.

For more information on this temporary service adjustment please contact your Magic Maker®.

‘Villains Unleashed’ Hits Disney’s Hollywood Studios® Saturday

This Saturday, August 23, more than 50 Disney Villains will take over the operations of Disney’s Hollywood Studios® for a Villains Unleashed special ticketed event!

We have some additional information for our guests that will be attending the party:

  • Although the party doesn’t start until 8p, tickets become valid starting at 5p for admission. We suggest arriving early and enjoying a few of your favorite attractions before the party begins!
  • On your way into the park, be sure to pick up an event guide. This will give you a listing of all the locations and times for the special activities.
  • The party will kick off at Hades Hangout (Sorcerer Hat stage) at 8p.
  • Villain character greetings will be spread throughout the park. Take note of which Villain the queue is for and any posted appearance times. Not all of the Villains will offer meet and greet opportunities.
  • Oogie Boogie’s Freaky Funhouse Show will have showings at 8:30p, 9:30p, 10:30p, and 11:30p
  • Fantasmic! will feature a special pre-show featuring the Night Crawlers. Don’t be late!
  • Villainy in the Sky will start at 12:45am. As with all fireworks shows at Disney’s Hollywood Studios®, preferred viewing is in front of the Sorcerer Hat and along Hollywood Blvd. Standing back so you are not too close to the Sorcerer Hat but near one of the video screens hanging on Hollywood Blvd usually provides the best experience.

If you are driving to the park after that time, you will need to utilize the main entrance off US-192 and World Drive.

If you are going to be visiting the Walt Disney World® Resort this weekend and don’t have tickets to the event, they are still available! Pricing is $67+tax for adults / $62+tax for children.

A Guest with a MagicBand who wishes to view and download their attraction video may still purchase Memory Maker after riding the attraction to receive their video.
  • I do not have a MagicBand. Can I still get an attraction video?
No, you must be wearing an active MagicBand attached to a valid My Disney Experience account when you experience the attraction.
  • What about attraction videos association for guests with Family and Friends Connections?
Memory Maker guests with MagicBands who have active Family and Friends connections via their My Disney Experience account will be able to view all attraction videos, which are captured automatically. However, only the Memory Maker Guest will have access to view and download the video.
