Epcotยฎ Opens New World Showcase Eatery

Spice Road TableA new World Showcase eatery is now open at Epcotยฎ. Located along the shores of the World Showcase Lagoon inside the Morocco Pavilion, the dining location features Mediterranean small plates and regional drinks that are as delectable as the view is beautiful.

Spice Road Table is inspired by the many outdoor cafes you can find along the Mediterranean. The location seats about 180 guests between its indoor seating area and outdoor terrace. With many of those seats providing an amazing view of the World Showcase Lagoon, we’re sure Spice Road Table will become a hotspot for late evening dining and viewing of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth.

Unlike many of the other World Showcase eateries, Spice Road Table does not offer a full dinner menu. The menu consists of an extensive listing of aperitifs, Mediterranean beers, and wines. In addition, you can choose from about a dozen different food options which are small plates (an appetizer-sized portion). Current menu options include:

  • Mussels Tagine $10
with Cilantro, Garlic, Lemon Confit and Tomato Sauce
  • Spicy Garlic Shrimp $10
Sauteed Shrimp with Dried Chilies and Fried Garlic
  • Mediterranean Omelet $7
with Potato, Red Peppers and Caramelized Onions
  • Moroccan Merguez Sausage $9
North African Lamb Sausage service with Tomato, Red Onion & Cilantro Salad
  • Fried Calamari $12
with spicy Harissa & Capers aioli sauces
  • Hummus and Imported Olives $10
with Cornichons and Za’atar Flat Bread
  • Salted Cod Croquettes $10
Sun-dried Tomato and Black Olive aioli
  • Lamb Slider $9
Brioche, Cucumber Dill and Mint Tzatziki Sauce
  • Rice Stuffed Grape Leaves $8
fried Capers, Raisins and fresh Nutmeg
  • Harissa Chicken Roll $8
    with Harissa Ketchup
  • Mogador Sampler $16
Mussels Tagine, Salted Cod Croquettes, and Fried Calamari
  • Tingis Sampler $16
Lamb Slider, Harissa Chicken Roll, and Merguez Sausage
(menu options and pricing subject to change)

A kid’s menu and dessert options are also available.

Spice Road Table is open daily 11a til Epcotยฎ park closing. At this time, reservations are not accepted and this location does not participate in the Disney Dining Plan.

Once You Use MyMagic+…

As the Walt Disney Worldยฎ Resort continues to test MyMagic+, our guests love that they are able to customize their vacation like never before. For example, instead of doing the “FastPassยฎ Dash” every morning, guests can select three “must do” attraction or entertainment options before they leave home and rest assured they will get to experience their favorites with Disney FastPass+ service.

Another thing our guests are falling in love with is the convenience of the new MagicBands. Wrapped around your wrist, your MagicBand is your key to a carefree visit as it unlocks your Disney Resort hotel room door, acts as a Theme Park ticket, provides access to your FastPass+ reservations, and so much more.

Just be careful you don’t allow MyMagic+ to spoil you too much! As you can see in this video, the MagicBands don’t function quite as well in the “real world!”

MyMagic+ & FastPass+ & My Disney Experience – oh my! You may not understand how these new features work, but your Magic Makerยฎ does! Count on our expert service to help you navigate the changes and make your next Walt Disney Worldยฎ Resort Vacation one you’ll never forget!

Wildlife Wednesdays: Family & Nature Events

Children are sponges.

I am always amazed at what our five year old and two year old absorb in our day to day life. From the fun experiences we share as a family to the educational moments they have in their day to day lives, they are always picking up something new. Repeating some phrase that makes us giggle. Remembering a promise we made in the moment. Shocking us with the wealth of information they learn.

That is part of what is so endearing about Disney Destination vacations to our family. Not only are the an amazing time to play together as a family, our time at Disney Destinations is full of moments for our children to absorb their world in a new way. Our trips always wind up educational too.

Walt Disney Worldยฎ Resort has added another opportunity for our children to be sponges this year with Wildlife Wednesdays: Families and Nature Events at Disney’s Animal Kingdomยฎ Park and Epcotยฎ The Seas with Nemo and Friendsยฎ Attraction.

During these family and nature events, kids and families will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the amazing creatures that inhabit our planet! It is an opportunity for families to ‘get wild’ together!

Be sure to see the schedule below of upcoming opportunities for families to connect to nature!

At Disneyโ€™s Animal Kingdomยฎ Park:

13 ‘Disney Parks’ Highlights from 2013

It’s hard to believe that in just a few hours, we will be saying goodbye to 2013! It has been a great year. All of our favorite Disney Destinations have received some great additions and improvements over the past 365 days, and we’d certainly be remiss to not reflect on our favorites (listed in no particular order).

  • Starbucksยฎ – Our Magic Makersยฎ aren’t the only ones over-the-top excited about this addition. In 2013, three Starbucksยฎ locations were opened insideย the gates ofย Disney ParksMagic Kingdomยฎ Park, Epcotยฎ, and Disneylandยฎ Park. These full service locations offer a wide selection of famous Starbucksยฎ products like iced and regular coffees and teas, frappuccino, espresso, smoothies, and refreshers. As an added bonus for guests at theย Walt Disney Worldยฎ Resort, most of the drinks are only (1) snack entitlement for those on one of the Disney Dining Plans!
  • Mickey and the Magical MapDisneylandยฎ Park debuted a brand new stage show in the newly remodeled Fantasylandยฎ Theatre this year called “Mickey and the Magical Map.” Many of our Magic Makersยฎ had a chance to see the new show which features music and beloved characters from several classic Disney films just last month and immediately fell in love. From start to finish, the show will captivate guests of all ages.
  • The GardenDisney Destinations has always had a strong focus on assisting guest with dietary restrictions. The Walt Disney Worldยฎ Resort added a special kiosk inside Disney’s Animal Kingdomยฎย Theme Park this summer that is staffed by knowledgeable Cast Members that are able to assist guests with restrictions. Click here for more details.
  • Frozen – Disney Animation Studiosโ€™ film Frozen recently made its way into the Walt Disney Worldยฎย and Disneylandยฎ Resort, and to say guest response has been great would be a huge understatement! In bothย Disneylandยฎ Park and Epcotยฎ, guests can meet the royal sisters, Anna and Elsa, during their visit. Since opening, wait times for this meet and greet at Epcotยฎ have peaked at over 3 hours! If you are visiting the sisters at Disneylandยฎ Park, be sure to watch for an audio-animatronic Olaf!
  • Norsk Kutler Gallery – Also part of the Frozen fun is a new gallery, Norsk Kultur, which opened in the Norway pavilion at Epcotยฎ. The new exhibit explores how the culture and beauty of Norway inspired the filmmakers during the creation of the film. The gallery is well worth the visit.
  • Friday the 13th โ€˜Unleash the Villainsโ€™ Event – This September, Disney’s Hollywood Studiosยฎ hosted an ‘Unleash the Villains’ event on Friday the 13th. When promoted, the Limited Time Magic event was described as something that โ€œyou wonโ€™t want to miss โ€“ and wonโ€™t soon forgetโ€ฆ even if you try!โ€ In true โ€œDisney-fashion,โ€ they lived up to their words! Click through the link to view our photos from the event.
  • Lโ€™Artisan des Glaces The France Pavilion in Epcotยฎ World Showcase debuted a new “sweet spot” this year. Lโ€™Artisan des Glaces serves a variety of artisan ice cream and sorbet that is made right there on premises. Forget the diet and try a scoop (or two – we won’t judge)!
  • Disney Magicยฎ Disney Cruise Lineยฎ performed a reimagination of their first ship, the Disney Magicยฎ. From stem to stern, no details were overlooked in this huge refresh. Even if you have sailed on this ship before, you’ll want to check out the exciting changes and new areas onboard.
  • Monstrous Summer All-NighterDisney Parks welcomed summer by keeping Magic Kingdomยฎ Park, Disneylandยฎ Park, andย Disney California Adventureยฎ Park open for a full 24 hours on Friday, May 24th!
  • Tangled Themed Restrooms – When walking through the new Tangled themed area of Fantasylandยฎ, it’s easy to get caught up in the details. This beautifully designed area features a sitting area with much needed charging stations as well as restrooms.
  • Princess Fairytale Hall This fall Magic Kingdomยฎ Park debuted a new location for loyal subjects to visit Cinderella, Rapunzel and some of their visiting princess friends. Click here to view our photo tour of the hall.
  • Garden MarketplacesNew Garden Marketplaces were added this year to the offerings at the Epcotยฎ International Flower & Garden Festival. These kiosks, similar to those atย Epcotยฎย International Food & Wine Festival, provided guests with garden- and backyard-living-inspired food and beverage items. These marketplaces will return in 2014.
  • MyMagic+Off to Neverlandยฎ Travel has had guests participating in the MyMagic+ system since testing started earlier this year. Words can’t describe how much convenience using the MagicBands adds to your vacation. And scheduling your Fastpass+ย in advance ensures you’ll have the chance to do your family’s “must do” attractions. We are excited to see the future of MyMagic+.

What were your favorite additions in 2013?
