Disney Magic® Kicks Off Inaugural Season Sailing From Texas

Just two weeks ago today, the Disney Magic® arrived at the Port of Galveston to kick off Disney Cruise Line’s® inaugural season of sailing from the Lone Star State. From Galveston, the Disney Magic® will sail 4-, 6-, 7-, and 8-night Western Caribbean itineraries along with an 8-night Bahamian itinerary through May of 2013.

The Disney Magic® made her first appearance in Texas with a large cowboy hat on the funnel! The hat was 19-feet tall and 14-feet wide! If a real cowboy was to wear this hat, he would need to be about 43 feet tall! Along with many locals, Houston’s Ghostriders, the official rodeo drill team of Texas, were on hand to welcome Disney Cruise Line® to the neighborhood.

The cowboy hat was actually just a printed polypoplene cover that was attached to a frame that covered the existing Disney Cruise Line® emblem on the funnel!

Disney Cruise Line® Updates Early 2013 Sailings from Galveston, TX

Later this month, the Disney Magic® Cruise Ship will call Texas her home as she begins sailing Western Caribbean Cruises from the Port of Galveston. Disney Cruise Line® will continue cruise service in Galveston through the beginning of May, 2013.

Disney Cruise Line® has adjusted their itineraries for their early 2013 sailings to offer a variety of new cruise options for guests sailing from Galveston. In addition to 6-night Western Caribbean sailings, 4-night Caribbean getaway cruises and 8-night Bahamian itineraries with stops at Walt Disney World® Resort and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.

“We are excited to add even more variety to our offering of itineraries from the Port of Galveston. The addition of shorter getaway cruises and voyages that call on our most popular port of call, Disney’s Castaway Cay, rounds out an impressive array of itinerary options from Galveston.” – Karl Holz, Disney Cruise Line President
