Thankful for Our ‘Family’

At Off to Neverland Travelยฎ our Magic Makersยฎ find a lot of joy in helping make your vacation magical. It is thisย desire for excellence and passion for Disney Destinations thatย brought us together; yet it is ourย time working together thatย has createdย a family.

We are truly thankful for our family of Magic Makersยฎ, and to be honest,ย we think you should know just how awesome they are.

To help you get to know the amazingย men and women that make up our Off to Neverland Travelยฎ Magic Makerยฎ team we are excitedย to launch an ongoing series of posts celebrating the lives behind the magic!

We hope that these posts will give you a more intimate look at just how awesome our team is!

This week, we celebrated with Magic Makerยฎ Jennifer Hyland (TX) as her son’s 5th grade football team went undefeated and brought home the championship! Way to go Hyland Family! The Hyland’s weren’t the only ones celebrating their children this week, asย Magic Makerยฎ Courtney Agnello’s (NJ) children brought home two report cards with all A’s! We wouldn’t expect anything else from Courtney’s children! We are truly excited forย Magic Makerยฎ Robin Kellogg’s (TX) family as their High School senior is entertaining a lot of great academic and athletic offers for college!

We know many of you experienced the extreme snow that hit Buffalo, NY; forย Magic Makerยฎ Lisa Krueger (NY) it was an opportunity to enjoy 4 snow days together with her family! While Lisa was in the snow,ย Magic Makerยฎ Heather Rodgers was in the middle of an amazing family trip to Hawaii! You’ll have the opportunity to read about her trip soon!

It was also a big week forย Magic Makerยฎ Megan Paradiso (NJ) who started a MOMpreneurs group earlier this year; she recently reachedย 150 members! Megan is striving to help mom’s find a good work/life/mom balance!ย Magic Makerยฎ Mandy Girven (NC) also had big week as she just started a new position at a private college near her home andย Magic Makerยฎ Natalie Corey (AL) found herself busy at a fun and successful neighborhood event, a ladies night sip and shop!

Magic Makerยฎ Julie Paolino (NY) just welcomed a niece into the world, on Mickey Mouse’s birthday! It sounds like we have a newย Magic Makerยฎ in the making! Not only was new life welcomed into the world,ย Magic Makerยฎ Marcie Munoz (TX) celebrated 18 years of marriage with her hubby and Magic Makerยฎ Melissa Ludwig (OR) and her husband just closed on their first house!ย Magic Makerยฎย Lisa Gillissen (OH) gathered a group together to pack shoeboxes for Project Christmas Child; we are so excited about Lisa’s passion to make a difference in the lives of others!

Professionally,ย Magic Makersยฎ Clydene Rogers (CA), Tara Radulski (MS), Ginger Carnell (CO), and Kim Bowers (GA) all ย reported in with fantastic weeks planning amazing experiences and hearing glowing reportsย from many of their clients!

And how could we forget to celebrate withย Magic Makerยฎ Amanda Harris (TX), whose foster hound hasn’t wet the carpet in days! Now THAT is reason to celebrate!

As you can see, we have a lot to be thankful for in our Off to Neverland Travelยฎ family…and this isn’t even the whole crew!

At the end of the day, we are all real people, with real lives, planning magical experiences for you!

Disneyโ€™s Caribbean Beach Refurbishment Brings Rooms for Five

Soon, Disneyโ€™s Caribbean Beach Resort will join the list of resort hotels capable of accommodating families of five! Once complete, refurbished rooms will feature (2) Queen Beds sleeping 4 guests or (2) Queen Beds and a pulldown Murphy bed accommodating a 5th guest. The resortโ€™s Pirate-themed rooms will remain as is.

In addition to the change in bedding, a refresh has been given to the other furnishings in the room giving them an overall new look. With the new dark furniture and a splash of color through artwork and other furnishings, the changes are very refreshing and make the rooms very inviting.

At this time no completion dates have been announced. We will be sure to keep you updated as information becomes available. In the meantime, enjoy this sneak peek of the new rooms:

Disney Destinations and Dietary Needs

Vacations are a way of escaping from everyday life, leaving stress behind, and spending quality time with those you care about. However, there are many points during the planning process that can cause stress, and your Magic Makerยฎ is here to take that off your shoulders. One of the common causes of stress for traveling families is in accommodating special dietary needs. Disney Destinations, as usual, have pulled out all the stops to make sure that you do not have to worry about what you will be eating during your magical getaway.

Whether it is a dairy intolerance, sensitivity to gluten, or a specific food such as almonds that you must avoid in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle, Disney Destinations will to their best to cater to any special requests. When you and your Magic Makerยฎ are ready to make advance dining reservations, notify your Magic Makerยฎ of your special dietary needs and they will make sure to include this in your reservations. Often, chefs can substitute different ingredients in meals, so that you don’t even have to choose an alternate meal, but actually have the one you want! The following is a list of common allergies that most Disney Parksย restaurants can accommodate/substitute:

  • Gluten or wheat
  • Lactose or dairy
  • Peanuts and tree nuts
  • Shellfish
  • Soy
  • Fish
  • Eggs
  • Corn

When you arrive at a Disney Parkย restaurant, it is always a good idea to remind your server of your dietary needs as well (though the server will often check with you first, since it will be in your reservation notes). If you have a metabolic disorder or multiple allergies, you will want to be sure to notify your Magic Makerยฎ so that it can be factored in to all dining arrangements.

For many people, food allergies are not necessarily a worry, but some may still have strong preferences about what to include or not include in a daily diet. Many Disney Park restaurants will offer no-sugar-added, low-fat, low-sodium, Kosher and vegetarian options for meals to take care of these dietary needs as well.

Vacation time means time to relax and unwind. A large part of that is being able to enjoy your dining experiences while away… especially at Disney Destinations, where food is extra-fun! What you are going to eat on your trip should never be a worry, and your Magic Makerยฎ will help to ensure that you will have all of the dining information that you need before you even pack your bags.

Mickeyโ€™s Very Merry Christmas Party Guests Receive Exclusive Holiday ‘Sorcerers’ Card

Elsa's Icy Shield SOMK CardFriday night, Magic Kingdomยฎ Park at the Walt Disney Worldยฎ Resort will hold their first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party of the year. Guests who attend this year’s special-ticketed event are able to once again receive an exclusive holiday Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom card.

This year’s event-exclusive card will be will be “Elsa’s Icy Shield” featuring Queen Elsa from Disney Frozen. Past years’ cards have included “Huey, Dewey, and Louie’s Snowfort Barricade” and “Wayne and Lanny’s Ornament Barrage.”

Guests with paid admission to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party may pick up their cards at the Firehouse on Main Street, U.S.A.ยฎ by present their party ticket and event wristband. Quantities are limited, so we suggest picking them up early in the evening!

Updates Coming to Disney Cruise Line Navigator App

Last fall, Disney Cruise Line put the power right in the palm of your hands when they introduced their new Navigator App! Now, an enhancement is on the way to add even more functionality!

Currently the Navigator App gives you access to the valuable information you could once only find in your daily Personal Navigator delivered to your stateroom each evening. With this new update, guests aboard all four Disney Cruise Line ships will be able to utilize Onboard Chat to connect with other friends and family members aboard the ship!

Additional information you’ll find in the app includes:

  • Listing of onboard activities
  • Character experiences onboard the ship
  • Deck Parties, Live Shows, and other Entertainment
  • Dining
  • Adult exclusive nightclubs and lounges
  • Your upcoming ports of call
  • Spa and other Onboard Services
  • Youth clubs
  • Deck Plans
  • Option to save and be reminded of favorite activities

The app is available for free in the Apple App Storeโ„  (iOS devices) and Google Playโ„ข (Android devices). Use of the app, which utilizes the onboard WiFi network, is complimentary as long as you follow the specific directions for connecting. However, you’ll want to remember to download the app before boarding the ship to avoid any data charges.

Anna & Elsaโ€™s Boutique Opens in Downtown Disneyยฎ District

Last week, the Disneylandยฎ Resort opened the newest of their offerings in their Downtown Disneyยฎ District, Anna & Elsa’s Boutique. Here, Crystalizers (stylists) perform transformations inspired from favorite Disney Frozen characters. Available to ages 3-15, you can choose transformations that include hair, makeup, and wardrobe.

Available package options include:

  • Elsa Package: Elsa inspired coronation hairstyle with blue color streak, tiara, shimmering makeup, and nail polish.
  • Anna Package: Anna inspired coronation hairstyle with green color streak, tiara, shimmering makeup, and nail polish.
  • Olaf Package:
    • Snow Girl: Olaf inspired hairstyle complete with top hat, headband, orange color streak, shimmering makeup, and nail polish.
    • Snow Boy: Snow frosted hair tips and choice of Olaf tee.
  • Cool As Ice: Hairstyling with choice of two colorful hair streaks, face gem, shimmering makeup, and nail polish.

On select dates through Nov. 22, 2014, enjoy a magical evening at Downtown Disneyยฎ that includes dinner and a performance of La Noubaโ„ข by Cirque du Soleilยฎ. This special “Dinner & A Show” package includes:

  • Category 1 or 2 seating at that evening’s 6p performance of La Noubaโ„ข
  • Dinner (one entrรฉe, dessert and a non-alcoholic beverage per person) before or after the show at one of three popular Downtown Disneyยฎ restaurants:
