Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

“Stop whining, what do you want to do next?”

I could feel the frustration in this mother’s voice as the words echoed from her lips amidst the crowd in Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park.

The child barely got their mouth open to answer before their mother chimed in with, “you know what I don’t care what you want to do…”

I am sure you can guess that this frustrated family was not smiling.

Walt Disney World® Resort, Disneyland® Resort and Disney Cruise Line® are amazing vacation destinations, second to none in quality and service. There truly is something for everyone.  But as with any destination so large and so popular it is easy to allow frustration to set in and begin to ‘steal’ away priceless memories with your family and/or friends.

Between the crowds, the fatigue from trying to ‘do it all’, the weather, personality clashes and unpredictable moments; it is easy to take away from the excitement of being at ‘the Happiest Place on Earth’.

What can we say, we are about full disclosure.

The best advice we can offer, “Don’t sweat the small stuff…and it is all small stuff.” – R. Carlson

While I don’t know about you and your family, it seems like the things that frustrate my family the most on our trips become the things we laugh about the most when we get home. From squirrels stealing our food to bird droppings in our hair and the occasional ‘sour apple’ person we’ve encountered, we’ve had plenty of situations to steal our fun.

We can become the frowning family in Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park because we let our situations get the best of us, or we can choose to be the family with mouse ears perched atop our heads and turkey legs in our hands…laughing our way through the good, and the bad.

A trip to Walt Disney World® Resort, Disneyland® Resort or Disney Cruise Line® does not happen every day, and learning not to sweat the small stuff will help you make the most of your trip and the time you have there with family and friends!

One way to help relieve a lot of vacation stress is to allow your Magic Maker® to help you plan and prepare for your trip, from itineraries to dinner reservations…all at no cost to you! Be prepared, take time to rest, and remember not to sweat the small stuff, and you are certain to make the most of your time at the Happiest Place on Earth!

Disney VoluntEARS Aids Students Returning To School

‘Be Our Guest Restaurant’ Reservation Information

Finally, the date we have all been waiting for!

The new Be Our Guest Restaurant at Magic Kingdom® Park will begin taking advanced dining reservations for their dinner service on Monday, Aug. 20th at 7a. The first dinner service will be on Mon. Nov. 19th. All advanced dining reservations will require a credit card guarantee and guests who do not cancel at least one day in advance will be charged a $10 per person cancellation fee.

Be Our Guest Restaurant is part of the New Fantasyland® expansion in the Magic Kingdom® Park. Located below Beast’s castle, guests will be transported into the magical world of Beauty and the Beast. The restaurant features three themed dining rooms: the mysterious West Wing with the “enchanted rose;” the Rose Gallery with twirling, larger-than-life figures of Belle and Beast; and The Ballroom with elegant details, such as a domed ceiling, twinkling chandeliers and glimpses of softly falling snow outside.

Lunch is quick-service (no reservations required) and will be delivered to your table after you have ordered from a self service kiosk while Dinner is a traditional table service meal. They will be offering a fun French-inspired menu which we reported on earlier this summer. Be Our Guest Restaurant will be a participating on the Disney Dining Plan. Lunch will be considered (1) Counter Service credit and Dinner will be (1) Table service credit.

If you haven’t discussed the Be Our Guest Restaurant with your Magic Maker® yet, be sure to contact them quickly! Be Our Guest Restaurant is expected to be very popular and advance dining reservations for the location will be extremely difficult to secure for the upcoming months.

Stay Connected at Magic Kingdom® Park

Magic Kingdom Theme ParkStaying connected just got a little easier at Magic Kingdom® Park!

We all know what a frustration a weak mobile signal can be when trying to access the internet through our mobile device. Whether we are trying to stay connected with family and friends at home, access our favorite in-park app, keep our social media feeds up to date or just need the occasional connection to our work…a weak mobile signal can send us to a screeching halt.

All of that is changing in Magic Kingdom® Park.

As Fox News and other agencies reported earlier this month, the 1st of August brought about another major perk at Walt Disney World® Resort as they quietly rolled out free Wi-Fi in Magic Kingdom® Park!

The “Disney-Guest” network is now online in Magic Kingdom® Park, allowing you to access free Wi-Fi while in the park! As a great compliment to the now free Wi-Fi in Walt Disney World® Resort hotels, keeping your Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites up to date with your latest vacation fun is even easier!

Walt Disney World® Resort doesn’t intend to stop there either! There are plans to extend the free Wi-Fi coverage into their other three Orlando parks as well.

With the continued popularity of mobile and internet devices, free Wi-Fi just enhances the ability to enjoy your time in the park, while sharing it with others on the outside!

Remember though, don’t work too much, after all, Walt Disney World® Resort is supposed to be a dream vacation!
