Disneyland® Park Announces New ‘Fantasmic!’ Viewing Options

On July 17, 2017, Fantasmic! will return to Disneyland® Park after a brief hiatus due to adjacent park refurbishment to celebrate its 25th Anniversary. Guests wishing to end their day at “The Happiest Place on Earth” by enjoying a performance of Fantasmic! will have several options to reserve a space.

Fantasmic! will continue to use Disney FASTPASS® Service in a process similar to that currently used for World of Color. The viewing area will be divided into reserved and stand-by viewing for each scheduled performance.

Reserved viewing areas are exclusively for those guests holding a FASTPASS® for that performance. These can be obtained in two ways:

  • FASTPASS® Distribution – Beginning each day at park opening, Fantasmic! FASTPASS® Distribution will begin on a first-come first-served basis on Big Thunder Trail in Frontierland. Your Fantasmic! FASTPASS® will be marked with the assigned showtime, suggested return time and your preassigned viewing section.
  • Fantasmic Dining Packages – Several dining options are now available including a 3-course dinner at the Blue Bayou Restaurant or River Belle Terrace or an on-the-go option from Hungry Bear Restaurant. Pricing varies by location. See below for more details

Stand-by viewing will continue to be offered in selected areas while space permits.

New Theatrical Show Coming to Disneyland® Park

Mickey and the Magic MapLate last summer, Disneyland® Park closed the Princess Fantasy Faire to renovate the Fantasyland® Theatre for a new theatrical stage show.

Debuting in Summer 2013, “Mickey and the Magical Map” will bring another live entertainment experience to Disneyland® Park. While still in development, the Creative Entertainment team at Disneyland® Park gives the following synopsis of the show:

The wise sorcerer Yen Sid tells of a wondrous map – one unlike any other – with the power to take dreamers to any place imaginable. But when young apprentice Mickey Mouse attempts to paint the map’s one unfinished spot, he stumbles into a fantastic adventure through worlds of music, color and beloved characters, as he discovers the mystery of the map’s magic!

During his adventure, Mickey will encounter classic Disney characters like Pocahontas, Mulan, King Louie, and Princess Tiana.

At this time, no official dates have been set for the opening of “Mickey and the Magical Map,” but we will keep you updated when that becomes available.

All artwork are conceptual renderings. Actual construction/production may vary.

Limited Time Magic – “A Salute to the Golden Horseshoe Revue”

A Salute to the Golden Horseshoe ReviewAs part of Disney Parks “Limited Time Magic” campaign, Disneyland® Park has introduced a special show paying tribute to the classic “Golden Horseshoe Revue.”

“A Salute to the Golden Horseshoe Revue” began its 4-week run yesterday and will continue Thursday through Monday through Feb. 4. The performance pays homage to the world famous family-friendly musical variety show that Walt Disney often enjoyed himself inside the Disneyland® Park. The salute is hosted by Miss Lily and contains several favorite song and dance numbers like “Hello, Everybody,” “Belly up to the Bar,” “Can-Can,” and “A Good Man is Hard to Find.”

If you will be visiting the Disneyland® Park and want to take advantage of this extra sprinkling of pixie dust, here are some important details:

  • Showtimes are at 11:30a, 12:45p, 2:00p, 4:00p, and 5:15p
  • To reserve a seat for the performance, proceed to the podium outside of the Golden Horseshoe on the date of your selected performance. Tickets will be issued for your preferred show time based off of availability. Your ticket will indicate a time for you and your party (up to 8 guests) to return to be seated for the show. Because tickets are being distributed on a first-come first-served basis, we suggest you arrive at the Golden Horseshoe early in the morning for best availability.
  • Each show will have a stand-by queue to fill in seats in the case of a “no show,” but admission is guaranteed to only those guests with a ticket.
