‘Ferrytale Wishes: A Fireworks Dessert Cruise’ Coming Soon to Walt Disney Worldยฎ Resort

Earlier today, the Walt Disney Worldยฎ Resort announced another unique opportunity to enjoy the Wishes nighttime spectacular!

Building off of the popularity of their existing Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party that is hosted in the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant, they will begin offering ‘Ferrytale Wishes: A Fireworks Dessert Cruise’ starting Oct. 5, 2015. Setting sail from the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) about one hour prior to Wishes on one of the resort’s double-stack ferryboats, this event will feature a variety of delectable sweets, beverages, and amazing views of the fireworks show. Because this event is outside of the park, no theme park admission is required.

Event offerings will include:

  • โ€œThe Grandโ€ Key Lime Tart
  • Polynesian De-constructed Pineapple Upside Down Cake
  • Contemporary โ€œTraditional with a Twistโ€ Spiced Flourless Chocolate Cake
  • โ€œMain Streetโ€ Mickey Balloon Tarts
  • Mini โ€œFireworksโ€ Cupcakes with a Pop
  • Cinderellaโ€™s Sugar Slipper with Orange Financier
  • Florida Mango Panna Cotta,
  • Assortment of specialty alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including sparkling wine, coffee and signature punch.

On nights when Magic Kingdomยฎ Park is hosting Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parties, guests will be treated to a showing of Happy HalloWishes or Holiday Wishes โ€“ Celebrate the Spirit of the Season respectively.

Reservations are currently available for most Monday, Thursday and Friday nights Oct. 5 – Dec. 18, 2015. Pricing is $99 for adults and $69 for kids ages 3 to 9 (tax and gratuity included) which includes a take-away Souvenir Palette Plate & Glow Glass. All sailings are limited to 150 guests, so availability will go quickly!

Exclusive โ€˜Sorcerersโ€™ Card Available to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Guests

Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom 2015 Halloween Party Exclusive CardAttending one of the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Parties this fall? Don’t forget to pick up your event-exclusive Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom game card!

For the past three years, party guests were treated to a special card –ย  โ€œChip โ€˜Nโ€™ Daleโ€™s Bag of Tricksโ€ in 2012, a Hitchhiking Ghosts card from the Haunted Mansionยฎ attraction in 2013, and the Helmsman pirate from the Pirates of the Caribbeanยฎ attraction in 2014! This year’s card will be called โ€œMinnie Mouseโ€™s Costume Chaosโ€ and will feature Minnie, Clarabelle Cow and Daisy Duck dressed as witches.

Obtaining your card is easy. Simply visit the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom recruitment center inside the Magic Kingdomยฎ Firehouse onย Main Street, U.S.A.ยฎ. After registering with the Cast Member using your party ticket and wristband, you will receive this year’s special card along with a regular card pack if needed. Supplies are limited for each party, so make sure to visit the recruitment station early in the evening!

‘Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant’ Tests Breakfast Offerings

Beginning November 1st, Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant inside Disney’s Hollywood Studiosยฎ will begin testing breakfast service at their location. Guests can kick their “solar day” off right by enjoying an out-of-this-world breakfast in one of the park’s most popular dining locations.

Breakfast service will include breakfast pastries to share in addition to a choice of appetizer, entrรฉe and non-alcoholic beverage. The complete menu is not yet available, but here is a preview of some of the offerings:

Appetizers

  • Fresh Fruit
  • Yogurt Parfait

Entrรฉes

  • Puff Pastry filled with Scrambled Eggs, Crab, Asparagus and Gruyรจre Cheese with Roasted Tomatoes
  • Grilled Beef Tenderloin on Baby Spinach, with Bacon and Cheddar Custard on a Roasted Tomato and Cheesy Horseradish potatoes
  • Scrambled Eggs, Crispy Bacon, Sausage Links and Breakfast Potatoes
  • Macadamia Crusted Brioche French Toast with Mascarpone and Fresh Berries
  • Mickey Waffle with side of Bacon or Sausage
  • Kids Offerings:
    • Scrambled Eggs with Sausage, Bacon and Potatoes

‘Star Warsโ„ข Half Marathon – The Dark Side’ Announced for Walt Disney Worldยฎ Resort

After a successful first Star Warsโ„ข Half Marathon Weekend this past January at the Disneylandยฎ Resort, runDisney participants have been hoping for a similar event to hit the East Coast. This morning, runDisney announced a second Star Warsโ„ข Half Marathon Weekend would be added, but this time things will be focused on the dark side!

Star Warsโ„ข Half Marathon – the Dark Side Weekend will take place April 14-17, 2016, at the Walt Disney Worldยฎ Resort. In addition to the Half Marathon, the weekend’s events will include a Star Warsโ„ข 10K, Star Warsโ„ข 5K, Kids Races, and the Dark Side Challenge (Star Warsโ„ข 10K on Saturday and Star Warsโ„ข Half Marathon on Sunday). Participants can also accept the Kessel Run Challenge by completing the Star Warsโ„ข Half Marathon missions on both coasts earning them a commemorative โ€œCoast to Coastโ€ medal inspired by the Millennium Falcon starship.

The original Star Warsโ„ข Half Marathon Weekend, which will return in January at the Disneylandยฎ Resort, will be rebranded as the Star Warsโ„ข Half Marathon โ€“ the Light Side but registration for that event has already sold out.

Race registration for Star Warsโ„ข Half Marathon – the Dark Side Weekend opens Sep. 22 (Early registration starts Sep. 15th for Annual Passholders and DVC Members)! Like all runDisney events, this one is expected to sell out quickly so mark your calendars!

New Lands, Experiences and Entertainment Coming to Disney Parks

Earlier today, we told you about a new Star Warsโ„ข-themed land that is coming to both Disneylandยฎ Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studiosยฎย (Click here for more details). Well, we have more exciting news to share about other new lands, entertainment, and experiences coming soon to the domestic Disney Parks.

Here’s a brief recap of what’s to come:

Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studiosยฎ

Get ready to head “to infinity and beyond” as you step into the world of one of Disneyโ€ขPixar’s most famous films, Toy Story! As you enter Toy Story Land, you’ll be shrunk to the size of Woody and Buddy as you wander through Andy’s oversized toys.

The new land will feature two new rides and an expansion of a guest favorite:

  • A family-friendly roller coaster enjoyed on the back of Slinky Dog.
  • Alien saucer attraction in which the little green aliens take guests around for a spin.
  • Addition of a 3rd track for the current Toy Story Maniaยฎ attraction!

Disney’s Animal Kingdomยฎ After Dark and Pandora – The World of AVATAR

As announced previously, work continues on the largest expansion in the parkโ€™s history. Soon, guests will be immersed into the world of Pandora, and the entire park will transform after dark with new nighttime entertainment experiences!

Details of the expansion include:

  • Scheduled to debut in Spring 2016, “Rivers of Light” will bring the Discovery River to life with live music, floating lanterns, swirling animal imagery and water screens unlike anything ever seen in a Disney Park.
  • Kilimanjaro Safarisยฎ will be expanded next Spring to include a new nighttime adventure. Keep watch for two new species to the attraction – African wild dogs and hyenas!
  • Work continues on Pandora – The World of AVATAR. This new land will include floating mountains, a bioluminescent forest, and a new E-ticket attraction called AVATAR Flight of Passage.

Star Warsโ„ข-Themed Lands Coming to Disneylandยฎ and Walt Disney Worldยฎ Resorts

The Walt Disney Company announced that a galaxy far, far away would be coming to a Disney Park near you!

In what is being called Disney’s largest single themed land expansion in history, these new Star Warsโ„ข-themed lands will bring 14 acres of fun to both Disneylandยฎ Park in Anaheim and Disney’s Hollywood Studiosยฎ in Orlando.

Plans call for the land to transport guests to a never-before-seen-planet feature two signature attractions. Inside the land, every store and restaurant will be run by the “locals” of the planet!

No date has been announced for the launch of these new Star Warsโ„ข-themed lands. But in the meantime, new Star Warsโ„ข fun is on the way!

  • Stars Toursยฎ – The Adventures Continue – Later in 2015,ย Star Toursยฎ – The Adventures Continue attractions in both Disneylandยฎ Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studiosยฎ will include a new adventure with locations and characters from the upcoming Star Warsโ„ข: The Force Awakens.
  • Jedi Training Academy โ€“ A current favorite of young Padawans, Jedi Training Academy, will soon be reimagined with a new experience that includes new characters and a new villain to battle from the popular Disney XD series, “Star Wars Rebels.โ€
  • Star Warsโ„ข Launch Bay – Also coming in 2015, this new interactive experience will take guests on both coasts into the upcoming film, Star Warsโ„ข: The Force Awakens. The experience will feature special exhibits, visits with new and favorite Star Warsโ„ข characters, and specialty food and merchandise offerings. Star Warsโ„ข Launch Bay will be located in Tomorrowlandยฎ at Disneylandยฎ Park and inside the Animation Courtyard atย Disney’s Hollywood Studiosยฎ.
  • Season of the Force – Inspired by the success of Star Warsโ„ข Weekends, Season of the Force will be a new season event, beginning early 2016, bringing more intergalactic fun into Disneylandยฎ Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studiosยฎ. At Disneylandยฎ Park, Space Mountainยฎ will be reimagined into Hyperspace Mountain.ย Over atย Disney’s Hollywood Studiosยฎ, they will feature a new fireworks spectacular on weekend nights set to the iconic scores of Star Warsโ„ข movies. Much more fun is in the works as well.

Every runner is aware of the preparation needed to compete in a race. You can’t just lace up your shoes and go run a marathon! You have months worth of preparation to make sure you are conditioned both mentally and physically and have everything you need to compete.

With runDisney races, that preparation starts with registering for your event. Because these events are so incredibly popular, it’s not uncommon for some races to sell out within hours of registration opening! Your window of opportunity to register for these events can be small, so we have a few tips for you to make it as pain-free as possible.

  • View our listing of upcoming runDisney events and note the registration date and time for the race you are interested in.
  • Because registration requires an active.com account, we suggest you visit the site before registration opens and create one if needed.
  • Because the registration process asks some personal details, it’s easiest for you to fill out the form for yourself. Even if you are participating as a group, it’s best (and quickest) for each of you to register on your own.
  • On registration day, keep an eye on runDisney’s twitter account (@runDisney) for the registration link to be posted as soon as registration opens. This will be your quickest way to access the registration form.
  • If you’re lucky enough to make it right into the queue, you only have 15 minutes to complete your registration before your spot is given up to another person. If you receive an “on hold” message, the queue is full but continue to check back as spots may still open up.

Breakfast Now Permanent at ‘Be Our Guest Restaurant’

Magic Kingdomยฎ Park has announced that the prix fixe breakfast that they started offering last March at Be Our Guest Restaurant in New Fantasylandโ„ข is now permanent. This fast casual breakfast is served daily from 8a-10a.

Meals are a quick service entitlement on the Disney Dining Plans or for those paying cash – $21.99 + tax for adults, $13.99 + tax for children ages 3-9 years. Advance Dining Reservations are accepted and recommended. Like at lunch and dinner, the breakfast menu options all have a French touch to them as well. Meals will include an entree, a pastry basket for sharing and selection of self-service beverages. Menu options include:

  • Assorted Cured Meats and Cheeses
  • Assorted Breakfast Sandwiches
  • Eggs Florentine
  • Vegetable Quiche
  • Fried Donuts
  • Waffles
  • French Toast Sticks

Kids options include:

  • Crepes du Cogsworth

Garden Grill Restaurant Introduces Breakfast and Lunch

This fall, character dining options inside Epcotยฎ are expanding!

Starting Nov. 8, 2015, The Garden Grill Restaurant inside the Land Pavilion of Epcotยฎ will offer breakfast and lunch reservations daily. While the complete breakfast menu has yet to be released, you can expect many breakfast favorites like biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, Mickey waffles, and Chipโ€™s Sticky Bun Bake. For lunch, you’ll find favorites from their dinner menu like sliced filet of beef, roasted slice turkey, โ€œLiving with the Landโ€ Harvest-inspired Farmerโ€™s Salad, and various side dishes. Just like dinner, the two new meals will be served all-you-care-to-eat right at your table. And of course, Chip ‘n’ Dale and some of their Disney pals will make rounds all day long greeting guests.
